James C. Owen, Jr. Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who
James C. Owen, Jr. celebrates 30 years in college athletics
ALPHARETTA, GA, August 3, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- James C. Owen, Jr., Director of Men's Golf and Senior Associate Athletic Director at Oglethorpe University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in college athletics.
With 30 years of experience in his field, Mr. Owen excels in recruitment, organization of college tournaments and in marketing the university to families and students. As the director of men's golf and senior associate athletic director at Oglethorpe University, he is responsible for overseeing the athletic department, organizing events, coordinating special sporting events, performing administrative duties, scheduling referees and recruiting students from around the country. Mr. Owen directed the 2009 Oglethorpe University Men's Golf Team to win the NCAA National Division III Championship. He attributes his success to his passion for his profession.
Mr. Owen received his Master's Degree in Physical Education from Georgia State University in 1987. He is a member of the Golf Coaches Association of America, the National Golf Coaches Association and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. In 2001, he was named to the Oglethorpe University Athletic Hall of Fame. He intends to win five more National Championships.
