Michelle L. Symes, M.Ed., Receives Professional Networking Community's Highest Honor
Michelle L. Symes, categorical coordinator, named Professional of the Year in Educational Administrative Support

MERCED, CA, October 6, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michelle L. Symes, Categorical Coordinator for the Merced County Office of Education, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Educational Administrative Support. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named professionals of the year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements and leadership abilities.

Best noted for her skills in educational leadership, Michelle L. Symes brings 17 years of industry experience to the Merced County Office of Education. Now celebrating her third year as categorical coordinator, she excels in managing categorical programs and developing strategies to coordinate, integrate and improve education from preschool to college. On a daily basis, Ms. Symes is tasked with working alongside the P-16 counsel, coordinating visits to under-performing schools, and choosing candidates for the "Teacher of the Year" award. She considers working with kids and having them return years later to tell her about their accomplishments to be the most rewarding aspects of her career. She attributes her success to hard work, commitment, dedication, and collaboration.

Ms. Symes earned her master of education in 1997 from California State University, Fresno. She is a member of the California Women for Agriculture, the Association of California School Administrators, the Miss California Organization, and the American Association of University Women.
