Tatiana C. Tatum, Ph.D. uses her scientific expertise to teach biology to university students

CHICAGO, IL, August 26, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tatiana C. Tatum, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Saint Xavier University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

Tatiana C. Tatum has four years of experience as an assistant professor of Saint Xavier University. Her expertise is in genetics, water issues and environmental science. Her responsibilities include teaching introductory biology and genetics courses for students in those majors and introduction to biology and women in science courses for non-major students. She became involved in her profession after seeing the difference made by teachers in students' lives. She attributes her success to her passion for her profession and to the support she receives from her family.

Dr. Tatum received her Ph.D. in Cytogenetics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2005, her Master's Degree in Herpetology from Jacksonville State University in 2001, her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Jacksonville State University in 1998. She is a faculty advisor for The National Society of Collegiate Scholars and a member of the National Association of Biology Teachers, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry. Dr. Tatum hopes to become an associate professor and work on developing a laboratory manual for non-major biology classes.
