What the Class of 2009 Wants for Graduation: Career Advice
For college seniors, the post-graduation job search is their number one priority. So instead of the typical graduation gift of electronics or money, why not offer the gift of advice instead?

KANSAS CITY, MO, May 06, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- For college seniors, the post-graduation job search is their number one priority. So instead of the typical graduation gift of electronics or money, why not offer the gift of advice instead?

The Class of 2009 will likely face the toughest job market in decades, so graduates need to find ways to stand out from the crowd of job applicants. One resource designed to offer students the edge they need to land a great job is the Web site, Image@Work Club. Erica Mason, 2009 Kansas State University graduate, says she is thankful for any advice she can get. "Anything that can give me a legs-up or provide advice for getting a job, handling interviews and what to wear, I'll definitely take it."

Call it the 21st Century version of dressing for success -- today's students have grown up with an unlimited access to technology, but haven't been exposed to the rules of how to dress. The Image@Work Club presents information using the interactive element that students are accustomed to and have come to expect. Members of the Club can read articles and watch videos that pertain specifically to professional image and business etiquette, plus listen to interviews with human resource experts. Students are also encouraged to contribute questions and comments, as well as content.

"Everyone at some point in their life is going to be trying to find a job or an internship," Mason said. "Any help that you can get and that your school can provide ... because ultimately that's why you're going to college is to find a career. So I think it's also the responsibility of both the parents and the school to get us ready for the life ahead of us."

Individuals may purchase an annual subscription to the Club for a graduate, or colleges may select a membership for their entire campus. For more information, visit www.imageatworkclub.com.
