Dr. Eschenbach has 32 years of experience in academia and specializes in teaching mathematics.

TYBEE ISLAND, SC, April 1, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Carolyn A. Eschenbach, Professor Emeritus at Georgia State University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of higher education.

Dr. Eschenbach has 32 years of experience in academia and specializes in teaching mathematics. She strives to reach students on several levels and act as a mathematics advisor and counselor on personal issues. Dr. Eschenbach was full-time mathematics professor for 13 years. She previously taught at the university level at Wofford College and at the University of South Carolina at Spartanburg. Early in her career, she taught at Santa Fe Junior College in Gainesville, Florida and at a private high school in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

During her prestigious career as a professor, Dr. Eschenbach authored and co-authored 22 papers on pure mathematics and taught many of the higher level university and graduate mathematics classes. She taught while she was doing research and publishing, and worked full-time and part-time while her children were growing up. Dr. Eschenbach enjoys the balance between her personal and professional life that academia provides and has always placed importance on the value of education. She attributes her success to her inner drive and to her desire for learning and leading others.

Dr. Eschenbach received a Ph.D. in Mathematical Science from Clemson University in 1987 and stayed on to complete a fellowship in research and teaching. She also completed a fellowship in teaching at the University of Florida, Gainesville in 1968 and received her Master of Science in Mathematics. She received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Florida in 1965. She is a member of the Spartanburg Bridge Club, Sigma Pi Sigma and Mensa International. A former treasurer of the Palmetto House Republican Women, she is also affiliated with the Cum Laude Society, the Republican Women's Group and Concerned Women for America. Dr. Eschenbach hopes to reach out to her grandchildren and stay active in her community.
