NEW MILFORD, CT, April 1, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Christopher A. Shankle, Associate Director of the Division of Graduate Studies at Western Connecticut State University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of higher education.

With 14 years of experience in academia, Mr. Shankle is responsible for recruiting, facilitating registration, admissions for students, overseeing student graduation and advising the graduate student union. He was always involved with the university in some capacity, either with student government, the radio station and newspaper, and held several positions in the university while he was pursuing his master's degree. He attributes his success to his personal drive, the faculty who inspired him as a student and learning in small-size classes with 20 to 25 students.

A graduate of Western Connecticut State University, Mr. Shankle holds a Master's Degree in Curriculum, a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. He served as president of the board of directors of the Alumni Association. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Education in Instructional and Curriculum Leadership at Northcentral University. He is a member of Pi Lambda Theta International Honor Society for those in education. He also received the Centennial Award for Excellence in 2002 from Dr. James Roach, Past President of Western Connecticut State University.
