Free College Planning Workshop to Help Parents and Students Prepare for College and a Career
College Planning Workshops
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL, October 15, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Three (3) Free College Planning Workshops are being held this October in South Palm Beach County. The first is Wednesday, October 22nd at 6:30pm at the South County (Delray) Civic Center at 16700 Jog Road. The second is Thursday, October 23rd at 6:30pm at the West Boynton Park & Recreation Center at 6000 Northtree Blvd (next to Park Vista High School). The third is Saturday, October 25th at 11:00am at the Spanish River Library at 1501 NW Spanish River in Boca Raton (just east from Military Trail). The workshop is being taught by J. Jay Greene, co-author of â ˜How to Pay for College without Going Brokeâ and â ˜What Your Guidance Counselor Isnâ t Telling You.â He is considered by many to be a leading expert on planning for college.
'Itâ s really a shame that most no one is really taught a process of systematically choosing a career and college, so most students are left with blind luck to determine if theyâ re going to being to the right school or studying the right major, and thatâ s why many students take 6 years to graduateâ ¦and then canâ t find any work in that field that will pay them enough to support themselves,â he says. â ˜Iâ ve spent many years researching this subject, and Iâ ve developed a process that will work for any family to help their student select the right major and career path, choose the right school, graduate in less time than their peers do, and immediately have work when they graduateâ ¦and now Iâ m letting everyone hear about it for free!â
The class will walk parents through a step-by-step process for helping their students, and leave parents with an action plan that they can immediately implement, even if their child is still in middle school. Subjects to be discussed will include the 5 most common myths about the college planning process that hold students back, and cost their parents a ton of money; the 3 things you MUST do before you even think about looking for colleges, the 10 most common application mistakes that will kill your chances of being accepted, and Donald Trumpâ s secret to the one thing you can do to all but guarantee that you have a job when you graduate and start at a salary thatâ s 10-15% higher than everyone else in your class. Itâ s so simple, yet not 1 in 100 students actually does it.
The class is free, but seating is limited by the size of the room, and past workshops have completely filled up. To reserve your seat, 1) please go to www.CollegePlanningPhD.com or 2) please call 561-208-5552 ext. 5, 24 hours a day. This class is for the entire family, so both parents and students are encouraged to attend. One parent commented that having this information was like having a high-powered flashlight to explore a murky, pitch black cave while everyone else stumbled around blindly in the dark.
