Mizaba Abedi Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who Executive, Professional and Entrepreneurial Registry

    /College News News Articles/ - Yuma, AZ, May 31, 2008, Dr. Mizaba Abedi, Professor of Communications for Arizona Western College, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of higher education.

Dr. Abedi has 25 years of education experience, during which he has honed an expertise in lecturing on communications and languages. His daily responsibilities include teaching developmental English, writing, linguistics, and language. Additionally, Dr. Abedi has worked in Saudi Arabia, Zaire, the United States and Mexico as a language teacher and for the National Commission for Education Reform where he developed curriculum for English, French and local languages for Congolese Schools. Dr. Abedi speaks multiple languages and has taught all over the world. His travels have provided him with the experiences needed to write and teach students from various cultural backgrounds and he attributes his success to his hard work, dedication and the experience he gained through his world travels.

In addition to holding a Ph.D. in Multicultural Teacher Education from the University of New Mexico, Dr. Abedi earned his Master of Arts in Teaching English and Linguistics from York University and his Bachelor of Arts in English with a Minor in African Linguistics from the University of Zaire, Lubumbashi. He is a Certified English Teacher by the Universit de l'Etat a Mons in Belgium and a member of the National Council of Teachers of English. Dr. Abedi authored a book titled, "Zaire: School & Politics," which is currently available on Amazon.com. In the future, he hopes to continue writing and teaching students.
