Program Renovation at PWU
PWU plans to launch a multitude of courses and degree programs, beginning a new age for the university, its faculty and students.
/College News News Articles/ - LOUISVILLE, KY, June 14, 2006 - Pacific Western University (www.pwu-ca.edu) is one educational institution that isn't taking a summer break. Within the next few weeks, PWU plans to launch a multitude of courses and degree programs, beginning a new age for the university, its faculty and students.
PWU has been in the distance education business for more than three decades, but before this summer all materials had been in print. The school was due for a change; Dr. Ronald Detrick became president of PWU the first of February, 2006, to lead that initiative. He had previously taught online courses for other institutions, and brought with him two colleagues from another online learning program to assist in PWU's transformation. Dr. Detrick had worked with Dr. Denzil Edge of Learning House, Inc. on previous distance learning experiences, and commissioned Learning House to develop PWU's new courses.
The new programs at PWU will incorporate both internet and print educational materials. Two associate degree programs, two bachelors degree programs and two masters degree programs will round out an ambitious course catalog. The focus of most programs is business-oriented. As stated on the school's website, PWU is "committed to training today's professionals for tomorrow's challenges through self-directed adult programs" via flexible distance learning formats that give students a quality education in convenient delivery methods.
From a fresh website to the revised mode of teaching, Pacific Western University is ready to take on new students and share with them the results of the institution's hard work, ingenuity and commitment to the best in distance education.
